Trusting God in a New Season

August brings another season of change. Summer days are growing shorter, gardens are producing their harvest, and families are preparing for a new school year. Students, parents, teachers, and school employees are stepping into new schedules, responsibilities, and opportunities.
A new beginning can bring excitement, but it may also bring uncertainty. In a world that continues to grow and change so quickly, we may wonder what lies ahead. Proverbs 3 reminds us that we do not have to understand everything before taking the next step. We can trust God to guide our paths.
As the school year begins, let us pray for our students, teachers, families, and communities. May our schools be places of safety, kindness, wisdom, and encouragement. May our children grow not only in knowledge, but also in compassion, character, and faith. The seasons may change, but God remains faithful. Whatever lies ahead, we can move forward with hope, knowing that He is already there.

How Far Does a Can of Soup Go?
How much difference can one can of soup really make? For a family struggling with food insecurity, perhaps more than we realize. That can of soup might be served with bread tonight or stretched with rice, noodles, or potatoes to help feed a family. It may seem like a small gift, but when groceries compete with rent, medicine, gasoline, and utility bills, every little bit helps.
Summer heat and winter cold can make those choices even harder. Some families also face limited transportation or cooking facilities. Having simple, shelf-stable food available can mean one less thing to worry about that day.
At Servants of Our Lord Ministry, we believe food provides more than nourishment. It is also a way of showing someone that they are cared for and have not been forgotten. One can of soup may not seem like much. But joined with the generosity of many others, it becomes meals on tables, relief for tight household budgets, and hope during a difficult time.
"And do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased."
