Faithful Service, Prayer, and Hope for Eastern Kentucky

This month's update includes ministry needs, a call for prayer partners and volunteers, upcoming Clay City distribution dates, and a partner spotlight celebrating Fullness of the Word Ministry.

Our mission is to serve our Lord, Jesus Christ, by meeting the spiritual and material needs of economically deprived individuals living in the Appalachians and surrounding areas.

    Ministry Needs This Month

    Prayer Partners

We invite you to join us in prayer for the food pantries we serve, the faithful volunteers who give of themselves so lovingly, and the families who come in need of food, encouragement, and hope.

Please pray that each family would not only receive daily provision, but also feel the love, comfort, and faithfulness of God through this ministry. Please also lift up our leaders, asking the Lord to grant wisdom, direction, and hearts that remain sensitive to His voice.

    Financial Partners

We thank God for every friend and supporter He has brought alongside this ministry. If the Lord is leading you to give, we invite you to become a monthly financial partner.

Every dollar given goes directly to feeding families in Eastern Kentucky, with nothing held back for overhead. In a time of rising costs and growing need, your gift becomes a blessing, an answered prayer, and a reflection of Christ's love in action.

    Scripture Focus

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
    — John 14:27

Remembering the True Meaning of Mother's Day and Memorial Day

May gives us a precious time to pause and reflect on two beautiful examples of sacrificial love. On Mother's Day, we thank God for the mothers and women who have loved with patience, prayed with faith, served with humility, and given of themselves again and again for their families.

Memorial Day also calls us to remember with grateful hearts the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is not just part of history. It is part of the freedom we enjoy each day.

As Christians, both days remind us that true love is willing to give, serve, and sacrifice for others. They point our hearts back to Christ, who showed us the greatest love of all.

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
    — John 15:13

    Volunteer Corner

Volunteering is one of the most meaningful ways to serve others and share the goodness of God in your own life. Food insecurity touches many counties across Kentucky, and your hands can help make a real difference.

Our Clay City, Kentucky distribution is coming up on Monday, June 8 and Tuesday, June 9. We would love to have you join us.

If your youth group is looking for a service opportunity with a lasting impact across multiple communities, this is it. The work we do together sends ripples of hope far and wide. Reach out to us about volunteering on Sunday afternoons at our warehouse in Clay City, Kentucky.

Food Pantry Visit: Fullness of the Word Ministry

In the heart of Eastern Kentucky's Appalachian region, Fullness of the Word Ministry has been a steady beacon of hope for nearly two decades. Operated by Pastor Pete and Brenda Combs, this church and outreach faithfully feeds hundreds of people each week in Beattyville and surrounding communities.

For more than ten years, our ministry has been blessed to partner with them. Their deep local roots and reliable weekly distributions multiply the impact of our shared resources, allowing us to reach families who might otherwise go without.

Together we demonstrate Christ's love in action, offering not only food but dignity, encouragement, and open doors to the Gospel. Please join us in praying for the Combs, their volunteers, and every person they serve.

    Prayer Requests

    • Pray for the food pantries and food banks who have recently seen an increase in people needing food.
    • Continue praying for Dana Walker as he heals from recent surgeries.
    • Pray for Carl and Lisa as they deal with health issues.
    • Pray for two of the inmates who help with distribution and are being released.
